Thanks to constituents, friends, and family, it has been my honor to serve the diverse and dynamic coastal communities of House District 2 in the Legislature ā€“ but we are just getting started on the work!

It is with great excitement that I have filed to run again in 2024! Please join the team as we travel the 500 miles from Hydaburg to Yakutat to learn from our constituent communities.

Why Iā€™m running

We live in the most special place in the world, but I have seen firsthand how our communities are struggling. In my career as an elementary educator, I focused on solving problems with the students in my classroom ā€” we need a skilled problem-solver representing us in Juneau.

Partisanship cannot take precedence over the urgent needs of families. Strong schools, consistent and dependable marine highway service, accessible housing, and thriving waterfronts are common priorities I hear from the diverse communities of House District 2.

I'll continue to work to stabilize school funding; transition the Alaska Marine Highway to a public corporation model that offers consistent and dependable service; and invest in infrastructure that supports working families, organized labor, and Alaska's small business ecosystem. I remain committed to a bipartisan coalition, upholding the right to privacy, and safeguarding our Permanent Fund for future generations.

Southeast deserves a representative who will continue to go the distance to serve our communities. You have seen me at work on the Sitka Assembly, in the schools, and in the 33rd legislature; I would be honored to continue working for you in Juneau.

Working for the diverse communities of House District 2 has been the honor of my lifetime. I have visited all 21 towns at least once and am proud of the open lines of communication I enjoy with community, tribal and corporation leaders across the district.
